Friends of the Oconto Falls Fire Department

In 1999, a small group started a fund raiser for a Thermal Imaging Camera.  The camera would enable the department to see through smoke to find trapped or unconscious victims and also locate hot spots during a fire.  The camera was ordered in 4 months.

Two drownings in two years made the department realize they needed equipment for water rescue.  In February 2007, a fund raiser began.  The group held a spaghetti dinner, garage sales, received donations from citizens, clubs, business places and the Oconto Falls Ambulance.  A motor was donated from Evinrude.  A sonar camera was donated by the family of deceased fire fighter Tom Wendt.  A rubber rescue boat, trailer, and water search and rescue equipment was purchased with funds raised.

If you are interested in joining this organization to help raise money for needed equipment or interested in making a donation, please contact Marie Magnin at 920-846-3391.
